Energy Heat Treating

TMT provides heat-treating services to many sectors of the Energy market. We understand the ins and outs of all quality requirements in the many different parts of the Energy industry. Whether your components will be serving applications in corrosive environments, or if they require improved hardness, strength, or toughness, then we can provide the right treatments for you.

Heat Treatment for Energy applications

Age Hardening

Many of the components that will be used to serve the Energy market have to be durable in harsh conditions, high pressures and temperatures, and corrosive environments. Our Age Hardening treatment is perfect for this, improving the strength of alloys and steels, as well as many other materials used for manufacturing in this industry.

Sometimes, components require further machining to achieve tighter tolerances or desired properties. Annealing assists with that, increasing a material’s ductility to allow for more cold work and even improving electrical conductivity at the same time.

Normalizing is an excellent treatment process for improving dimensional stability during subsequent machining operations. It’s also good for eliminating forming stresses and improving the mechanical properties of the component.

Solution Annealing

Solution Annealing has many applications, increasing corrosion resistance for shafts and gears as well as many other parts, and increasing impact strength for these parts as well. Parts can also undergo machining during the annealing phase, reducing the distortion that may occur during the process.

Through Hardening

Through Hardening is a popular heat treatment that improves the hardness of a material, especially in larger components, as well as the toughness throughout the structure of the component.
